Ae Ishq Humein Barbaad Na Kar

kabhi kabhi,
zindagi, jab tum mujhse duur chali jati ho,
to syaah kaali udaas raaton me tumhara wajood,
mere saamne aa khara hota hota hai,
ban kar ek sawal-
kahan kho raha hoon main, kahan ja raha raha hoon main?
kyon shumaar hain ye andhere mere khayalon mein?

udaas dhuyein ki chhat ki oor jaati lakeerein ban jaati hain,
safed kagaz par zard rangat ke khayalaat,
aur surkh jaagi hui si aankon me tirne waale wohi puraane khwaab,
phir se uthate hain apna sar,
unhe shayad nahi pata ki ek umr guzar chuki hai,
aur intezaar khatm ho chuka hai..

jab is dil ki daastaan ke adhoore panno par jore jayenge,
wo lafz jo ab tak nahi likhe gaye,
shayad inhe nahi pata,wo ashuft-a-sar mar chuka hai..
zamindoz ho chuki hai wo muskurahat jo surkh alfaaz ban kar kalam se nikalti thi.

we panne bhi hawa ura chuki hai jinpar likhi thi,
us benaam, badnaam shayar ki zindai ki ibaarat,
fir bhi kyon dafan nahi hote ye armaan?
kyon ye baar baar apni maujoodgi ki bebasi ka ehsaas dilate hain mujhe?

shayad ye yaqueen hain is baat ka,
ki shayar beghar nahi hote,
we bas jala-watan hote hain,
aur phir laut aate hain,
dekhne ko wohi sapne,
jagaane ko wohi armaan,
ye batane ko..ki paraye aur murda hi sahi,
mere khwaab ab bhi mere hain.

P.S:after along time,i am trying again to write in hindi, though this time it has a smattering of urdu.i am not that good with urdu, the choice of words may not be accurate at all places.please inform me of the errors you find,so i can correct them.
and as always,as with all my poetry, its only what i feel that i lay before you.if it showcases no great skill, please feel free to say so.i am not a professional poet, and such a judgement would not ashame me one bit, just help me get better.

  • About The Line under the Blog Name

The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
