Rings of Smoke

These poems do not live: it's a sad diagnosis.

make believe man

Posted on | July 8, 2008 | Comments Off

i look at you,
and close my eyes,
dream my dreams,
and think my lies,
and i hope for tomorrow,
and a shared paradise.

i am a make believe man,
in a make believe world,
can i take your hand,
and lead you across?
to a new sunrise,
and a world all new,
yours,mine-ours…

i whisper your breath,
and hear your eyes,
i can touch your sorrows,
and kiss your joys,
will let me take you,
the world we never touched?
but remember destiny-

for i am a make believe man,
in a make believe world…

if you let me touch you,
i can drain the fears,
if you let me kiss you,
i can wipe the tears,
hold me tight, don’t let me go,
we’ll never be lonely,can make it so…

for i am a make believe man,
in a make believe world.

  • About The Line under the Blog Name

The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
