making fun of love

**i was talking to DJ and Amresh Sir about abooks today.literateurs, that is what they are.after them,i feel i wasted my time reading so much, because i have not yet read anything!sometimes i feel so shallow.

**middle of endterms two papers tomorrow and a beer and a vodka

**something reminded me of this conversation arbitly…probably during 3rd year,or start of 4th…a friend of me calls me up at 3am, and the conversation goes-

She (without preamble): i think i am going crazy
me(drily, unsubtly referring to the time): so i see
she: i think i am in love
me:(speechless)
me:(after a while): well…u gonna tell me more
she:i think it is $@$#%#
me:(groan)
she: what??
me: he is such a loser!!
(cut the phone)
(two mins later the phone rings again)
she:you are being rude!
me (hinting unsubtly to the time again): yeah right!
she:why do you think him so bad?
me:you are talking lousy
she: i cant sleep, and wont let you
me:i think you are drunk.i dont talk to people who are drunk.you will be fine in the morning
she:fuck you
me:please
she:goddamn!!tomorrow i am gonna kick you ass
(hangs up)
(two mins later, she calls back again)
she:i thought he was your friend
me:i thought he was too
she:so…..
me:why dont you let me sleep…….love is such a lousy thing!
she:yeah, tell me the next time you are infatuated!
me:infatuation is the word you are looking for.
she(furiously):fuck you!!
(hangs up)
(10 mins later,i get a sms: “i am gonna kill you in the morning, you insensitive bastard”)

**sigh**

i am still alive.i guess love is something and friendship something else altogether :)

  • About The Line under the Blog Name

The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
