Ae Ishq Humein Barbaad Na Kar

just a beat up old man

its barely seven in the morning.i am back from the jog,and waiting for the sweat to dry so i can go take a shower.fiasco.thats the word to describe today’s jog.i jogged yesterday too.some seven plus kms.and that on the second day of this terms jogging season (i started with 5).but that was yesterday evening.this morning…the old body just lets go.refuses to sync my breath with the steps, and i feel every one of the forty five years that i have not yet lived out.so,i stop after one circuit of the jubilee park, and walk back to the hostel, while kaushal,at least manages to complete the run.for both of us,it is probably too soon.less that 14 hours in my case since the last, grueling seven ks and in his case less than 12 hours since the the last steady four that he does these days.and on the walk back,i begin to get frustrated with my body.i can still feel the effects of last evening’s jog-a niggle in the thigh, another in the hamstring,a dull ache in the deltoids, and weirdest of all,a tension in the ol’ biceps!!voila,my body now feels that my arms are too heavy to carry across a seven kilometre jog!!the bastard!they say you are getting old when you feel a new ache in a different place, everyday.i am feeling multiple new aches in multiple different places, everyday.so,i guess,i must be getting very old!anyways, today,i guess i must be satisfied with a feeling of happiness for having managed to wake up of my own volition at 5 30am,after a sleep of less than four hours(ok,not entirely of my own volition,an alarm was involved.but then it was also involved in the past three occasions when i woke up in the general times of afternoons, and once even evening, after setting the alarm for 9am),after a sumptuous meal, and one and a half beers in the night.

damn!i am getting weary.just a beat up old man.and my shoulders tell me that they refuse to bear the weight of my arms anymore.for now.the body is getting cantankerous.it will be punished with 7ks(hopefully) tomorrow.

meanwhile, aadisht blogs about this interesting offshoot of the financial crisis.and the me and kaushal have this conversation about it:

Sandeip: ye dekh
hum logon ko bid karna chahiye tha :P

Kaushal: :0

Sandeip: eggzaktly

Kaushal: its actual value must be -500 million…to 502 million premium diya hoga :)

Sandeip: hehe
USD 2!!
itna to afford kar hi sakte hain :)
price of one beer
less than one packet of dunhills

Kaushal: ha…par uske saath kaphi sare liabilities bhi ayenge…

Sandeip: wohi to panga hai
but at least 100 logon ko rakh ke baaki sab ko fire kar sakte hain :P

i sense much irony, and maybe a lesson is in there, somewhere.my mind is too fixated on the shower to bother about it right now.

  • About The Line under the Blog Name

The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
