Rings of Smoke

Where shall the word be found, where will the word | Resound? Not here, there is not enough silence

where eagles dare

this has to be the most sardonically humorous exhange ever, from THE most rollicking adventure story ever written…

“Schaffer lifted his head. The muzziness had now left him, even if his sore head had not.
‘Enter, left, reinforcements,’ he announced. “This wasn’t on the schedule, boss. Radio gone, telephone gone, helicopter gone — ‘
‘Just old-fashioned.’ Smith pointed towards the rear window. ‘They’re using smoke signals.’
‘Jeez!’ Schaffer stared out the rear windows, his voice awe struck. ‘For stone, it sure burns good!’”

the book is so full of action and fun…and i am told the movie they made on it was a commercial failure and not a good movie neither. i am as awestruck as schaffer when i try to imagine the hog’s breakfast they must have made of a plot almost impossibly gripping, and consequently, almost impossible to ruin!will bollywood ever make a movie based on the book?

  • About The Line under the Blog Name

The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
