And so, one fine day S came to my room,very gloomy,and said, “Sandy,I have got a job.”
I jumped up,it was really bright news.
“Congratulations,dude.Finally.I told you,you will get your due.Blah Blah Blah…”
And then I see that S is still looking glum,in fact his face looks likes the times when he about to cry in his vodka,complaining that his GF left him for being a loser.So,alarmed,I come to the rescue.
“S,u got a job,man.Cm’on,why are you so glum?Is the package bad?”
S says “No,dude.they are offering me 600000bucks a year in cash”
Me: “Man…thats 50k a month,thats pretty good in this economy.better than most,i would say.why so glum then?”
S: “dude…you aint heard the terms of employment yet”
Me: “Go on”
S: “ok..here goes…out of my 600K a year,i pay 50K to the GoI as income tax and surcharges.”
Me: “that still leaves a 550K a year,pretty neat,ay?
S: “thats not the end buddy…There is the POWFUSITOR surcharge”
Me (not paying any attention): well…what of it…another 10 percent…still leaves 500k which is more than 40K per month dude…not bad in the recession.
S: dude..you didnt listen closely to the name of the surcharge.and it is not 10%
Me: yeah?
S: POWFUSITR…means Privilege Of Working For Us In Times Of Recession surcarge….that is 30K per month,which I have to pay to the company!!
Me: Tch Tch!!thats real hard on you man,but still…think of those guys who aint got a job yet!!at least you got a job on your CV.When things get better after 2 years or so,at least you have a reputed brand name on your CV
S: Thats the worst part,mate…there is another surcharge.TPOUBOYC surcharge!
Me: You don’t say!!
S: Yeah!!The Privilege Of Using Our Brand On Your CV Surcharge!That comes to some 15K for every month i work there!!
Me: So,you actually mean that you are going to have to pay for the privilege of working for them?
S:yeah,man!!
Me: But why dont you just refuse it,man?
S: You know dude…recession!!and of course,the “if you have a job through placecomm,you have to accept  it” clause!!
