insanity

we have both been there,
in,among the whirling lights,
and dancing shadows,
the place no one knew,
staring in fascination-
at wavering lifeforms,
tentacly reminders of wasted morality-
we were there once,
without knowing.
you know the place,you want to go,
again-
dancing with a tottering gait,
the place you expect to find,
of bright colours and misty darknesses,
of highs achieved on nothing,
and lows of being alive-
the place where you hopes you would die,
and then wished you would-

we have both been to insanity,
of quiet cacophony,and murderous peace,
silent apoptosis of the soul,
and a glowing darkness,
we have been there,both of us-
and have seen us cleaved,tottering-
on the edge,watching,but not seeing the bottom,
and pulling back.

we have both been insane,in different ways-
yours was joy,mine despair.

    The lines generally are from some poem which I have, at some point of time or the other, loved. I do not mean, by including them, to be snotty or pretentious- but I would love it if you could identify the lines, and take much joy if you were interested enough to search them and read the original poems. If not- you can ignore them.
